The 2019 U.S. Women’s Open Championship will be conducted at the Country Club of Charleston May 27 – June 2, 2019. The Seabrook Island Club has been invited to participate in the USGA Marshal Club Program to adopt a hole for the week of the championship.
Online volunteer registration for marshals is now available. To register as part of our Seabrook Island Club Team, please click HERE. Make sure to use the registration code “SEABROOK” which ensures all volunteers affiliated with Seabrook are signing up as Marshals on the same hole. Anne Smith is our Hole Captain and she will assist with volunteer recruiting, availability and scheduling. Anne will be an excellent resource for marshal club, volunteer and championship related questions – please feel free to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Marshals Committee has inside the ropes responsibility which is close to all the action! The main task for marshals is to manage the movements of players and spectators through championship grounds. Committee members help assure players are afforded a quiet and uninterrupted opportunity to compete and move freely around the golf course and when moving hole-to-hole. This includes, but is not limited to, signaling to the gallery to be quiet as players address the ball, spotting and marking astray golf balls and helping manage spectator grandstands.
For only $85.00, all volunteers will receive (1) shirt, (1) jacket, (1) headwear, a water bottle, a commemorate USGA volunteer pin, a credential valid all (7) days of the championship and a parking pass. Volunteers are expected to work a minimum of four (4) shifts, with each shift lasting between five (5) to six (6) hours. Volunteers are the true backbone of all U.S Open Championships allowing the USGA to conduct at the highest level in front of a global audience. The United States Golf Association thanks you in advance for your support and we are looking forward to having you as a volunteer! For more information, please visit www.uswomensopen.com.
