Did you know our golf shop has various training aids which we all can utilize to improve our golf? Below are two of the tools/aids used by myself and other ladies at a recent Putting Clinic held by Martin and Randy. I personally found both of these training aids beneficial as they allowed me to better understand what I was doing incorrectly while putting and costing me extra strokes.
Please check in the Pro Shop for aid availability and additional information from one of the Pro’s on the easy set-up.
The Putting Alignment Mirror is a great tool to help you improve your golf putting setup. How do you know you are standing correctly over the ball? This training aid uses mirrors and guidelines that allow you to instantly check your posture, eyes and setup lines.
Check it out! You will be amazed how this tool and its alignment lines help you to see where your eyes, putter face, and shoulders are lined up in relation to the ball.
Practicing with the Arc at the Putting Clinic helped me understand two very important concepts.
- The putting stroke has only one moving part. The hands, arms, and shoulders rotate as a unit. The hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders stay connected throughout the putting stroke.
- Putting is an arc, NOT a straight back and straight through stroke.
By using the Putting Arc it will help guide your swing along the preferred arc and help you see that the putter face is square to its path and square upon impact.
